About us

History of ASF

Aruba Skateboarding Federation was founded by Aruban native Aldrich Briesen with support from his wife Giovanna Briesen and fellow skaters Edward Wathey, Jeremy Maduro, Alberto Arrindell, and Levon Jones.

Skateboarding became popular in Aruba in the late 80’s but the art of skateboarding has never been appreciated. The of lack of support caused Aruba to have no decent skate parks where skaters can properly practice and develop their skills.

Aruba is decades behind in skateboarding and Aruba Skateboarding Federation is here to put ides into action. We are solely focused on the growth of skateboarding and empowering our skaters.

Our Mission

Aruba Skateboarding Federation’s mission is to promote and sustain all disciplines of skateboarding by educating, building skate parks, organizing and oversee national and international competitions and provide pathways to success for Aruban skaters.

ASF will provide governance and unite Aruban skateboarders and the community.

Our goal is to nourish and support our Aruban skaters to demonstrate their style and skills and giving them the ability to compete internationally and represent our country proudly at the Olympics and international competitions.

What We Do

Aruba Skateboarding Federation offers an Instructor Certification and Skateboarder Certification Program. Our program offers quality education on an international level.

ASF organizes and oversees events and competitions nationally and internationally.

Provide free skateboarding lessons for those who qualify.

Build Skateboarding ramps for skaters to practice their skills. We also provide assistance for those building ramps and skate parks.

Provide financial support to eligible Aruban Skaters in order for them to represent Aruba internationally.

Build and maintain skate parks.

Give skaters a voice.
